What is FAR?
First Aid Response or FAR is PHECC’s newest education and training standard replacing Occupational First Aid QQI Level 5. It’s a foundation first aid course that trains participants to provide first aid for a person who becomes suddenly unwell or injured until the arrival of emergency medical services. FAR includes the full Cardiac First Response Community standard.

Paediatric First Aid is a one day training course. Our practical training is suitable for anyone with children in their care, from professional childcare workers to parents and grandparents. Certification is from our OFAAA and PHECC registered trainer and valid for 2 years.

Our Food Safety, HACCP Level 1 & 2 is delivered over one half-day. This training is suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge, and is applicable to anyone generally working in the area of food preparation and delivery.

Manual Handling Training is a practical training course delivered over a half day
Everyone attending who completes the practical and theory tests successfully will receive certification which is valid for 3 years. The course is delivered using a variety of methods including tutor instruction, practical exercises and DVD tutorial.
We provide practical training aimed at minimizing the risks of injury due to poor work practices.
All courses are available as an in-house training option.

Over half a day participants will be trained on the techniques of CPR and on the use of the AED (Defibrillator Training) including various scenarios where the AED can be used. The course is aimed at those expected to respond to emergencies in the working environment or sporting environments as using the AED is extremely important in the first minutes after a cardiac arrest.
