First Aid Response training, Galway, 2nd, 3rd & 4th March 2020

First Aid Response is a foundation first aid course that trains participants to provide first aid for a person who becomes suddenly unwell or injured until the arrival of emergency medical services. FAR includes the full Cardiac First Response Community standard. Training is delivered by a combination of presentations, DVDs, demonstrations and lots of practical sessions.
All successful participants will receive a joint PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council) and recognised institution FAR certificate. The certificate will expire after 2 years. After this time First Aid Responders may recertify by attending a two-day re-validation course.
Who are first aid responders?
A first aid responder may be a healthcare practitioner or a member of the public who has undertaken a First Aid Response course. The first aid responder will be taught how to assess
and manage patients in accordance with the PHECC FAR standard and clinical practice guidelines.

- Altered Levels of Consciousness
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Burns and scalds, chemicals, poison, electric shock
- The Well-Being of the First-Aid Responder
