Manual Handling Instructor Course

Our Manual Handling Instructor Course (FETAC Level 6) equips the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to effectively design and deliver manual handling instruction in the workplace.

The course is delivered on 5 days over 2 weeks. Assessments will be on-going throughout the course. Students will have to complete a written assignment during the course and a practical assessment on day 5.

Manual Handling

Our Manual Handling course is delivered in a single session of approximately 3½ hours, followed by a multiple choice examination paper. The training session will include a mix of overhead presentation, video presentation and trainee participation. The course is valid for a period of 3 years, after which a refresher course is required.

Childcare Manual Handling

Our Manual Handling for Childcare course is run over 4 hours, and participants receive a Manual Handling Certificate which is valid for 3 years. This course is delivered using a variety of methods including instruction, practical exercises tailored to suit the individual workplace, and a DVD presentation which is filmed in a Childcare environment.

Patient Handling

Our Patient Handling course is run over 1 day, and is designed for individuals such as nurses and care staff whose work involves lifting and handling patients. Participants learn the techniques and skill to undertake the handling of patients safely, both for themselves and their patient.
